Police have locked down Govan Road following the discovery earlier this evening. Staff inside the STV building and nearby residents have been asked to evacuate the premises and their homes.

Police have cordoned off a road near the STV building in Glasgow this evening and staff have been evacuated following reports of a 'suspicious item' being found in the car park.

The discovery was made near the headquarters of the broadcaster at Pacific Quay on Tuesday, October 17. An STV spokesperson said: “Due to a police incident in the area, STV’s offices at Pacific Quay have been evacuated this evening.” Officers remain at the scene of the ongoing incident.
