Court freezes Alfred Nevhutanda's luxury car and property

A R6.3-million Rolls Royce acquired by former National Lotteries Commission board chairperson Alfred Nevhutanda has been frozen in terms of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act.

In several instances, the Lottery money passed through several bank accounts before payment was made to the dealership where the vehicle was purchased.R55.4-million Lottery grant SASCOC had applied for the grant on behalf of the Mshandukani Foundation, a non-profit entity, headed up by Mashudu Shandukani. Between 21 July and 27 July, SASCOC paid the Foundation R24.4-million in three payments. Before the first payment, the Foundation had R585 in its account.
