FOR THE LEDGER Mayor William E. Cooper Tuesday administered the oath of office for City Attorney Ashley Marshall during the city council meeting Tuesday evening.
“Ashley is the epitome of a true public servant, and we are thrilled to have her serve in this new role,” Cooper said. “She has experience representing municipalities and has already shown a level of dedication, commitment and support to our great city.” Marshall, with her husband, JB, and sons, Jace and Will, said during the oath that she is delighted to be appointed to this role.
“I hope to continue representing the city with the same amount of dedication and integrity as our previous City Attorney Rainer Cotter,” Marshall said. Cotter previously served as the city attorney for 23 years. He left the position last month to assist in his family’s business. He continues to serve as a legal consultant for the city.
