A contractor who was caught moving £130,000 of dirty money for a crime gang has been spared jail. Dee Williams, 32, was snared during a police investigation into alleged drug offences. Officers swooped as he sat in a work van in the Palace Grounds in Hamilton, Lanarkshire. The dad-of-three told them they would not find drugs but that he had money. A search found a rucksack containing £128,130 and he was arrested.
Williams, of Glasgow, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted acquiring and possessing criminal property in June 2021 linked to serious organised crime.
