I’ve covered politics for most of my career in journalism and have largely lost the ability to be shocked by the cut and thrust of daily mud slinging. But every now and then a political figure says something so ugly that it shakes me out of my desensitised state.on Monday night.

Many of us also care deeply about the welfare and functionality of the city as a whole. And significant policy changes that warrant rigorous debate.
