An important decision will soon be made on whether more than 100 new homes can be added to a Nottinghamshire housing estate. The Eagles Edge housing development, which is off Mansfield Road, Redhill, could be expanded by 141 homes if Gedling Borough Council's planning committee follows advice to grant permission for the project next week, on Wednesday, March 27. The first stage, which comprises 72 homes, has been constructed and is largely occupied.
The estate's developers Barwood Homes Ltd, MF Strawson & Magal Investments LLP Agent now want to use the 6.95 hectares for its next phase, which would have almost twice the amount of houses as the first. In planning documents, the builder said there would be a mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced housing, with 21 different house types available for prospective buyers. The property developer said 21 of the properties would be classed as affordable, with 15 these being First Homes and the remaining six being affordable rent.
