A human rights group has made a criminal complaint that €30,000 of its property was destroyed as Dublin’s so-called Tent City was cleared. Hundreds of asylum seekers had spent months sleeping rough outside the International Protection Office on Mount Street but the area was cleared by the council last Saturday. The asylum seekers were bussed to a site in Crookslings, Co Dublin, but many were unhappy with that move and returned to Mount Street.

Social Rights Ireland is furious at the operation – and has now contacted gardai about damage to tents and other equipment it provided
