Exclusive: Solar trial turning Sydney homes into mini-power plants | LatimerCole

The two companies are creating a one-megawatt virtual power plant that uses the solar and battery power of 233 households across 170 suburbs in Sydney, the Central Coast and Hunter Valley.

"I'm getting paid to feed in solar power to the grid and getting extra for having a battery. We're getting paid to have a battery."Families like the Lees that participate in the program will receive up to $135 a year in cash payments or credits on their bill, depending on the size of their battery system.

“If the trial is successful, it could provide a lower cost alternative to grid investment, which would result in lower customer bills in the long term.

LatimerCole Household solar is completely inefficient, waste of taxpayer money.

LatimerCole I've just been told by Energy Australia that as my house can take only 20 panels and being a heavy user I could only save half my bill at best and it would be pointless spending $14,000 on batteries as they would probably never get fully charged.

LatimerCole How much and what is ROI ?

LatimerCole About time

LatimerCole Finally catching up.

LatimerCole Good stuff ☀️☀️
