Police said a woman called reporting a man pulling out a gun and pointing it at homes in the area of Tonawanda Avenue and Newton Street.

CLEVELAND, Ohio - An Akron officer-involved shooting Monday night left a 15-year-old in the hospital, according to police.

An officer found the teen near the intersection of Brittain Road and Ottawa Avenue and fired a single shot, hitting him in the hand.Police have not released the boy’s name at this time. Police said the investigation will be led by the Bureau of Criminal Investigations before being turned over to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office for review and submitted to the Summit County Grand Jury for evaluation.

Akron police said a separate internal investigation will also be conducted by the Office of Professional Standards and Accountability.
