Many people have been rendered homeless and property worth millions of naira destroyed in Akoko area of Ondo State as a result of the heavy rainstorm that wreaked havoc in the state.
Our correspondent learned that the rain which lasted for almost an hour turned to sorrow in some areas when some the affected residents of a rainstorm started counting their losses. It was gathered that the personal car of the Area Commander for Ikare, ACP Razak Rauf was one of the vehicles damaged as roof of the house removed by storm landed on the vehicle and two others in the same compound.
Bello appealed to Nigeria Emergency Management Agency NEMA and state government to provide succour and relief materials for the victims.
