Director Fredrik Gertten, whose 'Push' looks at the causes behind rapidly rising house prices, discusses the role of hedge funds

“Push,” a documentary by Swedish director Fredrik Gertten, is set to have its North American premiere later this month at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival. The film follows Leilani Farha, the U.N.

Special Rapporteur on adequate housing, as she investigates the causes behind rapidly rising house prices and rents globally. In an interview, Mr. Gertten discusses his theories behind rising housing costs and their implications.

That's funny, because in germany they told: minimum wages will increase costs for anything - it didn't - but when pension insurance leads to such an increase, they are pretty much worthless, because when you finally get paid with 70, you wouldn't be able to afford your rent.
