The Philippines was kept out of the US government’s list of countries with issues on intellectual property rights (IPR) enforcement for the 11th straight year.

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines was kept out of the US government’s list of countries with issues on intellectual property rights enforcement for the 11th straight year.

The USTR cited the Philippines’ launch of a new E-Commerce Bureau under the Department of Trade and Industry as a best IP practice. “In the Philippines, the IPOPHL organized an IP and Citizen Journalism for Schools program for youths, launched a Pirated Inferno comic and collaborated with stakeholders on an anti-piracy campaign,” the USTR said.
