A violent housing-related protest in Somerset West led to the closure of part of the N2 in Cape Town on Wednesday as police and protesters face off.
Ward councillor Jongidumo Maxheke told News24 locals had attempted to put up structures on privately owned land along the highway, following a housing meeting two days ago. Rubber bullets were fired at protesters after tyres were set alight and stones were thrown at authorities.
Can’t blame them , ANC and EFF keep promising land they can’t deliver !
Dear, so called police. When are you going to start using live ammo? Sick of seeing these savages destroying what was a great country.
Sad....but it does not stop here. The fundamentals are not in place to insure growth, thus inclusion. 3.8m people are tax payers. It is the usual socialist downward spiral
Whoop whoop skiet hulle kan nie net grond vat wat nie aan jou behoort nie. Mense wat polisie aanval moet met lewendige amo geskiet word. Bring daai polisie man wat daai ou by skool geskiet het..... Mal oor hom. Hulle al la doen 'n bylae een misdryf en dan mag jy live amo gebruik
People calling for land invasions should be legally held responsible for the outcome, it's no good politicians are calling for land invasions and when the people do it, they get hurt or property gets damaged.
