There were just 10.1 care beds for every 100 people over the age of 75 last year, says Public Health England.Data also recently revealed older people’s social care has faced a £160million cut in the past five years.
Are local authorities still allowed to run them? So many were privatised, I seem to recollect? Then the Tories deprive LAs of the money to fund them. Do they just don't see the elderly who aren't rich enough to find £1000 a week?
maybe if more support was given relatives could afford to have elderly/ill/ disbabled family living with them! i moved my mum in and care for her 24/7 and what help do i get? £64 a week and no support from anywhere
