Armed police rushed to a property in Glasgow's south side this evening, Tuesday May 14, following reports of a 'weapon' inside a property.
It is understood that Police Scotland received a report of a weapon inside the property on Kyleakin Road, near Darnley, where a man had fallen unwell. An eyewitness reported seeing "lots of officers with guns" at the scene around 4pm. Following a search, police found a BB gun and confirmed there were no injuries or threat to the wider public. A 31-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for a check-up. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called around 4pm on Tuesday, to a report of a possible weapon within a property on Kyleakin Road in Glasgow where a man had been taken ill."Officers attended and a BB gun was recovered. There was no threat to the wider public and no one was injured.
