Middleburg Heights At-large Councilman Tim Ali wants state legislators to act on a proposed bill that would control increases to real property values in hopes of reducing the tax burden on senior citizens, families with children and people living on fixed incomes.

Middleburg Heights City Council recently passed a resolution urging state legislators to act on a bill that would freeze property valuations and ease the tax burden on senior citizens, families with children and those living on fixed incomes.MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio – “With the real estate market the way it’s been the last few years, the property tax assessment is going to substantially increase,” Ali said. “I’m asking to keep the tax valuations the same.

“Every resident with a mortgage has a tax escrow account,” Ali added. “So, more money is going to have to be given to that account, which means your house payment is going to increase. It’s going to hurt a lot of people.”
