GLENDALE, Ariz. — A 14-year-old accused of killing his father was apprehended Tuesday after attempting to evade state troopers by speeding at 130 mph through Kingman, records show.
Court records show the victim's other child reported getting into an argument with their father shortly before the 14-year-old intervened by firing a gun. During an interview with investigators, the 14-year-old alleged that his father tried pushing him before getting into a fight with his sibling. The suspect alleged his father grabbed onto a gun he had holstered to his waist, prompting the son to pull out his own firearm.
Police noted in records that it appeared the father's gun was fully inserted into the holster and there was no indication it had been removed or discharged, records show. You can now watch 12News content anytime, anywhere thanks to the 12News+ app!
