Neighbors in the Hilltop area said two problem properties they called ABC6 about earlier this month, are being cleaned up.
Franklin County court records show on May 8, the city filed a lawsuit against the owner of the property along Belvidere Ave, SCPRICE Ministries. That property and the one along South Harris Ave. have both been cleaned up since ABC 6's first report."I am very ecstatic," Hilltop resident Kenya Martin said. "I am happy they are gone. My grandchildren can come play outside now. I have been calling 311 two or three times a day for the last six months.
"Now, it’s not an eyesore," Hilltop resident Deborah Potts said. "Look how it’s nice and clean and you are not ashamed about people going down your street or coming to visit." Upon visiting later this month, it appeared the property was starting to be cleared. But Carr said she doesn't think it will last, especially since she said she, along with dozens of other Hilltop area neighbors have made many 311 calls to the city about the property over the past decade.
