Published: May. 29, 2024 at 6:08 PM EDTCLEVELAND, Ohio - Several plots with tidy yards outlining well-kept houses dot Earle Avenue but draw little attention from the two decaying homes dominating the street.
“I would just really like the city to get these houses down for the safety of our kids,” said Rebecca Scruggs. “But for whatever reason, it hasn’t been torn down.” She says the process of buying and moving into her new home took nearly six months, but her concerns about the vacant homes have sat with her since day one.
She says despite her calls to the city, she has not gotten an answer on when the homes will be addressed.
