The Scottish Government has been accused by campaigners of "defying the will of Parliament" after it ruled out publishing an urgent action plan on housing.
The shortage of affordable housing has seen the number of Scots stuck in temporary accommodation soar - with 10,000 kids living in hotel rooms or B&Bs with their families. "In doing so, we will focus on their impact and deliverability, linked to the First Minister’s priorities of eradicating child poverty, driving economic growth and investing in vital public services."
"MSPs backed a motion which promised to deliver an urgent action plan including ‘actions that will reduce the number of children stuck in temporary accommodation by the end of this parliamentary session’. "The current strategy is failing and proposals like those in the Housing Bill will not come into force for many years to come.SNP ministers previously faced a backlash after voting through in Feburary a £196m cut to the Government's affordable housing budget for the year ahead.
