Riverside Hotel,Redevelopment,Mixed-Use

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) New plans are in the works to redevelop the Riverside Hotel, which has been closed since 2020.

This 14-story building on East Main Street in downtown Rochester used to be home to the Riverside Hotel until its closure in 2020. There's now plans in place to turn the property into a mixed-use space. Local developer Angelo Ingrassia, who redeveloped the old Irondequoit Mall and Medley Centre, is set to turn the 14-story property — which is located on East Main Street in downtown Rochester — into a mixed-use space, according to the city.

Miller doesn't know when the space will be usable, but hopes development will start before the end of the year. "It should have happened yesterday, in my opinion," Brown said. "It's been too long, and the longer we wait, the tougher it is. So, the sooner the better." Ingrassia did not have a comment when 13WHAM reached out to him about the building. The city said it's continuing to work with him to keep the property secured.
