Residents say they are concerned about property values and the impact the project would have on the environment.

Some Montgomery residents were caught off guard by a proposal to build a site for solar panels in their community.MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Thousands of acres of farmland near the Snowdoun community in south Montgomery County could soon be turned into a site for solar energy, but not if some local residents have anything to do with it. A large crowd gathering to send one message to solar companies: we don’t want you here.

Mathew Mcclellan says he faced a similar problem in Covington County and was able to help stop the effort. McClellan also expressed to the crowd that the project is only in its first phase, and there is still time to stop it.County Commission Chairman Doug Singleton told the crowd that the commission has limited power in this development, but said he agrees with their concerns.
