Mussab Ali said this is a leading model “that we think is a no-brainer to come to Jersey City.”

The longtime mentor and protege, Bill O'Dea and Mussab Ali, are running against each other to become mayor of Jersey City in 2025. Two Jersey City mayoral candidates are jointly urging the city council to amend the city’s Inclusionary Zoning Ordinance to give long-term residents “first dibs” on new affordable housing units and keep them from being priced of their homes.

The proposal by former school board President Mussab Ali and District 2 Hudson County Commissioner Bill O’Dea would mandate that for 30 days from the date of listing, all affordable housing units be exclusively offered to residents who have lived in the city for at least three years.Father’s Day events, blood drives and more in Hudson | UpcomingIf you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
