Carlisle Borough Police and a local animal rescue are working together to help a woman in need find temporary housing for her Pitbull and puppies.

According to Saving Acres Farm, the owner was living on the streets with her dogs after falling on hard times.

While police and community resources were helping the woman find temporary housing, those options would not cover the Pitbull, named Sage, and her seven puppies. Saving Acres Farm said it had the "privilege" of helping Carlisle Police with the case on Tuesday, providing shelter and care for the Pitbull family while the owner works to "get back on her feet."

"The ultimate goal is for the owner to get back on her feet and then have the puppies adopted, female dog spayed, and then returned to her owner," Carlisle Borough Police wrote."Sage is a sweetheart but malnourished and dehydrated," Saving Acres Farm wrote. "She has been eating well for us on a slow re-feed plan and drinking well. She crashed so hard last night with her babies."or donate to the shelter's PayPal: thesavingacresfarm@gmail.com.
