More than 150 homes are planned right next to where 1,700 are already being built in a Nottinghamshire town. .
The housebuilder had an initial application, which set out the basics of the development as well as access arrangements and infrastructure, approved in September last year. Its new application outlines the designs and types of houses that would be built, with all the homes planned to be built in one phase.
The prospective project is next to the huge Berry Hill development, sometimes known as the Lindhurst estate, where 1,700 homes as well as shops, a health centre, a new primary school, a nursery, care homes, offices, and a community park are being built. Hundreds of homes have already been occupied, with the total amount invested in the development expected to be around £250 million when it is finished.
To complete the project Vistry would have to pay financial contributions to local authorities for bus stop improvements, secondary education, SEND Education, health services, and waste management. The property developer will also have to make sure 17 of the houses on the estate can be classed as affordable.
"The layout and proposals have evolved through proactive discussions with both officers of Mansfield District Council and the council’s urban design consultant" The planning application is pending consideration by Mansfield District Council.
