Dozens of public housing advocates protested outside the gutted Notre Dame in Paris Monday to demand that Frances poorest be remembered after donors pledged 1 billion to rebuild the cathedral and its destroyed roof.

In addition to Arnaults pledge, another billionaire, Francois Pinault, and his son pledged 100 million euros for the reconstruction effort from their holding company Artemis, which owns the Christies auction house and is the main shareholder in Gucci.
France has a lot of crumbling buildings that they can't afford to fix so this was the ideal fix for them on Notre Dame at least ...as for the Church they just get in rent free and take Gov money to do housekeeping at 2 million pounds annually ...

I get where you are coming from but the donations for the repairs to the Notre Dame is on an entirely different level. The building is itself a part of our history plus the contents inside are not replaceable. It is for an attempt to restore the landmark for all to enjoy.
I can't blame them, it's not like France has an economy or any jobs. The Globalists raped and pillaged their riches while the poor got poorer. I for one and very grateful for President Trump reversing that nonsense here.

Don't they realize that the history of a nation land marked by one of the most beautiful architectural achievements of mankind. Is more important than a bunch of bums who are two lazy to work. How about they volunteer to rebuild it to get some of the money.

RealLife The original cost of the roof was said to be around 10 Million. Does the cost of the donations end back on people and missed taxes, business investments into people while the church has money & I am assuming insurance. The idea of donation with what effect? - Lucas
