The privately owned brokerage is the brainchild of Kayleen and Chaz McDowell, who founded the firm in 2015 and took a four-person start-up to a juggernaut with more than 150 employees.and the Plain Dealer compiled more than 200 stand-out Northeast Ohio employers based on employee surveys.

At first, hiring at McDowell was a unanimous decision — which meant 10 or 15 other agents had to say yes before you got in. “If you do not maintain a positive and humble attitude than you’re just not the right fit here,” Kayleen McDowell said. “Communication is key here, and in the event we have to mediate an issue, we communicate and we resolve the issue and focus on solutions. After all, we have a big job to do and folks trust us to do our job well.”
The company invests in marketing, with radio and print ads, state-of-the-art photography and three-dimensional presentations. That, McDowell said, brings “more buyers to your doorstep and we secure a higher price for your home.”
