Israel's war on Gaza, now in its 263rd day, has killed at least 37,626 Palestinians — mostly women, children and infants –– and wounded 86,098, with 10,000+ believed to be buried under debris of bombed homes and 9,500 detained by Tel Aviv.Israel kept up its bombardment of Gaza after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the"intense phase" of the war was winding down, as the United States urged its ally to avoid further escalation along the Lebanon border.
