Carol and William, from Hertfordshire, appeared on BBC Escape to the Country as they look to swap their five-bedroom home for a smaller property.

In the most recent instalment of Escape to the Country, viewers were introduced to Carol and William from Hertfordshire, who decided it was time to downsize from their substantial 5-bedroom house as their children had flown the nest.

Tasked with finding the ideal property was Jules Hudson, who was briefed on the couple's preferences which included an open plan layout, a secure garden for their dog, and a budget ceiling of £900,000. When Jules finally met Carol and William, reports the Mirror, he learned more about Carol's vision impairment. Carol, who has limited sight, told Jules: "I can see, but everything is a bit dark."
