Central Ohio is growing, meaning more housing and safety measures are needed for the future.

Mayor Ginther unveiled his 2024 Capital Budget proposal on Wednesday -- $1.99 billion of taxpayer money that will aid in roadways, crime-fighting and expansion projects for city facilities, and affordable housing.$3.3 million to design the new Easton police substation.$104 million to build new and affordable homes, preserve naturally occurring affordable housing and invest in permanent supportive housing for individuals experiencing homelessness.$31.

The 2024 budget has now been submitted to the Columbus City Council. They will hold public hearings to discuss the mayor’s proposal:Monday, July 8 at 6 p.m.
