Former Chairman of the Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Okoi Obono-Obla, has made startling allegations

that $69 billion looted by corrupt Nigerians was returned to the looters under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Obono-Obla recounted instances where his efforts to prosecute alleged looters were thwarted within the administration, citing obstructive actions of the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami . In another case involving a Senator, who was implicated in the Panama Papers for offshore property, Obono-Obla claimed his attempts to investigate the matter were stymied despite presenting evidence to relevant authorities.

IN another development, the member representing Ikwuano, Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency, Obi Aguocha, has sought the support of the former President, Buhari, for the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra , Nnamdi Kanu.
