These affordable postcodes might be a good option for people wanting get onto the property ladder

With the cost of renting a home skyrocketing these past few years, many young renters are keen to get on the property ladder and buy a place of their own.

Government house price index data shows the average UK property currently costs £283,000 - eight times the average salary. According to property website Zoopla, the average cost of a property in Merseyside is £203,531. While this is cheaper than the national average, many first-time buyers would still struggle to afford it.

L6 L6 covers Anfield, Liverpool City Centre, Everton, Fairfield, Kensington and Tuebrook. Over 12 months the average house price was £118,564.
