Labour has won the General Election by a landslide, with Sir Kier Starmer now officially Prime Minister. Not only does it mean a change in ruling party, but also a change in potential policies that will directly affect the economy and consumer personal finances.
A new code of practice proposed by Ofgem last year increased the protection for vulnerable families by mandating that suppliers must give customers at least 10 attempt to contact a customer and carry out a welfare visit before the installation. It adds: "Labour will ensure a much tougher system of regulation that puts consumers first and attracts the investment needed to cut bills. Too much of the burden of the bill is on standing charges and we will work with the regulator to reduce them.
