Other plans for the future of Arnold include converting car park spaces into greenery

Converting car park spaces into greenery and building new homes are among the ideas that have been set out to create a "vibrant" future for Arnold town centre. Improving the state of many of the town's shopfronts and making pavements wider are also among the plans set out by Gedling Borough Council as it invites people and businesses in Arnold to have their say.

Securing funding is something Arnold missed out on several times after failing to get money in any rounds of the previous government's Levelling Up Fund. The council therefore says Arnold has "immediate challenges" and that funding is "much-needed."Its 'Ambition Arnold' plan sets out a future vision for the town, split across three zones.

Councillor John Clarke, Gedling Borough Council's leader, said: "We are taking a decisive step forward in our commitment to revitalising our town and realising our Ambition Arnold plans. By creating a vision, we are demonstrating a prudent and forward-thinking approach to town centre regeneration.
