Images show a huge mess has been left in a street where residents have faced issues from student housing

Residents living alongside student housing in Liverpool have said they are "sick" of the streets being left a mess as people head home for the summer. People living in Woodcroft Road in Wavertree have previously spoken out about issues related to student housing in their street.

"It looks terrible, there is rubbish strewn everywhere. It is encouraging vermin. The last thing we need around here is rats. I have lived here for 76 years, it used to be a lovely, lovely road. Ann Dixon, who has also lived in Woodcroft Road for a long time, added: "It looks awful. There have been people rooting around in the bins, which are overflowing into the street. Someone tipped one of the bins out onto the street and the rats have been having a field day."
