The finance ministry says the number of unsold residential properties has risen to 32,313 units, valued at RM19.86 billion, in the fourth quarter of 2018.

In a statement today, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said his ministry has accepted an appeal by the housing and local government ministry to do so as this is expected to help clear the number of unsold houses. Stamp duty exemption of 100% was limited to the first RM1 million of the house’s value, with remaining value subject to a 3% rate.
