Tasmanian senator Jacqui Lambie says she would want see the federal government waive her state's housing debt before she agrees to pass the Coalition's full income tax plan.
If Labor opposes the legislation, the Coalition needs to secure four out of six crossbenchers to pass its bill, with Ms Lambie shaping up to be the critical vote. On Wednesday, she urged the Coalition to forgive the $157 million Tasmanian state government owes the Commonwealth in social housing debt, saying she couldn't 'in good conscience' support the income tax plan.
