“The MACC has the capacity to trace the records of individuals alleged to have committed grand-scale corruption globally as the commission has strong cooperation with foreign countries,” she said.
“We want to pursue and expand the cooperation to make sure no country will turn down our request for mutual legal assistance because that is what we need as evidence in court,” she said. Latheefa said there are countries that would not question any peculiar bank transaction, but there are also countries that are strict and would query those transactions.
Latheefa said the MACC would give equal attention to both small and big corruption cases, irrespective of those involved.
