The most abundant element in the universe, hydrogen can be turned into a zero-emissions fuel source.
With Australia's hydrogen industry still in its infancy, the production, storage and use of renewable hydrogen will be tested for the first time in a home environment, to see if can replace natural gas.
What my tweeps think And me Electric storage already mature thru decades of portable devices EVs ride $400bn global investment wave by car industry Decision taken: next decade electric Hydrogen has price + infrastructure problem
No it can't. It's the most leaky gas. Storing and delivering it requires technologically perfect components (pipes, joints, tanks), which is impossible in home environment. But creating thermal/solar plants in deserts, pumping the water there and converting it to hydrogen
..it can be government subsidised, monopolised, taxed, gst’d, oligarched...
LindaMottram AlannahMac ATCO ScienceChiefAu Round trip efficiency electricity to hydrogen to electricity is 30-40%
Not going to work without fusion reactors to supply the electricity cheaply and then why use hydrogen when you can synthesise liquid hydrocarbon fuels from CO2 in the air, plus water? If we started today it would take 20 years or more to switch the world over to hydrogen cars.
