Chinese billionaire Huang Xiangmo allegedly told a state MP he was happy to deliver a bag of cash to the state Labor boss during a 2015 fundraising dinner at the centre of a corruption inquiry.
Mr Wong on Monday said Mr Huang had told him he was happy to hand over the cash to Labor during a discussion on the evening of the night in question. Mr Wong was again accused of lying to ICAC on Monday after he denied having asked someone to sign a disclosure for a political donation they did not make.
Mr Wong said he had also taken home a bag, but was initially unclear as to what it contained. While attempting to explain what his own bag contained, Mr Wong was accused of making up evidence by counsel assisting the inquiry Scott Robertson. The inquiry also heard Mr Wong had redirected $5000 from the fundraiser to an organisation unaffiliated with the party.
