The Delta Mall in Effurun, Uvwie council area of Delta state, housing Shoprite Super Store and other business concerns, has been shut down for the time being.
Although skeletal services went on at the mall on Tuesday, especially at ShopRite, sources said stern- looking security agents, including soldiers and armed mobile policemen, were positioned around the premises on Wednesday, denying customers access. Some employees who spoke to The Nation in Warri, under anonymous conditions, said they were not sure of when they would return to work as they were only told to go back home for now.
In the same vein, offices of the telecommunications giant, MTN in Warri and Effurun, as at the time of filing this report, were partially opened though guarded by security men.
