Prosecutors will on Friday fight to extend the sentence for convicted wife killer Borce Ristevski.

Ristevski was sentenced to nine years jail with a minimum of six years behind bars for killing his wife Karen, who went missing from their Avondale Heights property on June 29 2016.

Her body was found wedged between two tree trunks in Mt Macedon bushland eight months later. Prosecutors argued his sentence was manifestly inadequate and will on Friday appeal to have it extended at the Court of Appeal in Victoria.
