Emergency accommodation needs to be radically reformed and legal limits set on how long children are trapped in hotels and B&Bs, it was claimed yesterday.
Chief among the recommendations from the politicians is to set a new time limit for the length of time families are forced to stay in humiliating emergency accommodation. It is very hard to feed a family too as most of the accommodation provided does not have kitchen facilities for parents or siblings to prepare meals.
Mr Farrell said: “Simple things like having a secure place to live, share meals with their families, do their homework, and have friends around to play with are out of the reach of the thousands of children currently experiencing homelessness.
