A young family of five is homeless after fleeing their burning home in Adelaide's southern suburbs

Fire erupted on the back porch of the home on Collins Parade in Hackham West just after 4am and quickly spread."Just seen all the smoke and the noise and went.. oh god," Hackham resident, Justin Nieass said. Others like Madeline Cotton were told they must also evacuate, with authorities fearing the flames could endanger other homes.

"The side of the house was on fire and when I ran in to get my daughter all you could see was flames," Ms Cotton said.

It’s elementary: The Holmes woman buying homes for the homelessHer late father owned a building society and left her with an inheritance, a nest egg she grew with some smart property investments. Now, Tanya Holmes is using it to buy homes for the homeless So great!! Giving them somewhere to live is only a bandaid solution. I see it all the time time when we are called in to clean a house or unit that was rented to a homeless person and due to their psychological problems the dwellings are damaged and left in a mess.
