The National Care Forum says poor data left care homes 'fighting a losing battle' when coronavirus hit the UK

PHE said it"used the data on reported outbreaks in care homes, large and small, to inform directors of public health, directors of adult social care… and other partners through LRFs ".

The LGA added:"Data on testing, deaths and better surveillance will be required as we move into contact tracing and case finding." He added:"We were all, as directors, wanting greater distribution, greater understanding and transparency of the data around outbreaks and indeed, around incidents."PHE said it only published the data in late April after introducing detail about the number of outbreaks at local authority level in order to help support government.

Always some one else's fault. If only the rich bosses hadn't spent those extortionate fees on BMW's and holidays in the Maldives when they could have been ensuring they had appropriate equipment for their customers and staff.

The multi millionaire owners should be brought to justice...

As the uk slowly returns to some sort of normality bbcnews continues to wring every ounce of drama out of Covid_19

were the owners / managers of these care homes to stupid to understand what the possibility would be in their own care home if they didn't have a decent infection control policy, with out the information the other care home up the road was just as stupid, maybe get better manager

with a disgusting agenda, Simon? saying how much care homes struggle and this has made Covid-19 issues worse... so an industry with a 90% private ownership with £1.5B pure profit disappearing in to offshore accounts and an owner in the NW travelling by private helicopter

Most are a private business and charge a fortune. I havent seen one owner held to account

Anybody working in a care home knew that if a resident got Covid19 it would spread throughout the home. They didn't need data to take extreme precautions to protect their residents. It was their owners and managers responsibility to take such precautions.

So these care homes didn’t do anything and waited to hear from the government... what ever happened to initiative

I was in charge of data. My bad

So now they blame the computers for this too. Wow, earlier today they blamed the scientists.
