Our political correspondent Christina Finn asked if the minister is confident he can make a difference to the housing issues in Ireland. “So I’m not going to fix it overnight. We’re very focused on bringing measures in that are going to work… and I’m very confident that at that we’re going in the right direction.”Poll Results:

Would'nt fix a flat tyre.

I doubt it. They are too involved with vulture funds and likewise.

It was Fine Gael and labour who destroyed the housing market, by allowing investors to build houses for rent and not sale. Time will tell if Finna fail will do better

Well from a government that has failed miserably to fix a homeless crisis that has seen people die on our streets some in the clear view of the occupants of Leinster House itself then it may prove a bridge to far for our incompetent leaders.

Not the way they are going about it ! They need to look to Finland and see how building homes are not to make builders richer but to home the people in a sustainable and affordable way , the city decides not the money 💰

The only thing this government can fix is their pensions and salaries Mehole talking through his hole today in the Dail but don’t worry all the die hards will put them back into power come next GE same old story we get what we deserve

Not an idea between them. The country is on the verge of American style trailer parks which you can lay the blame with every Government for the last 20 years

Can they do it? Maybe, if they wanted to, but that's not profitable so they won't. Not like they have much opportunity anywhere when they all have to take turns with the communal brain cell they all share.

Not just they can’t but also they don’t want to as, in many cases, it would conflict with their personal interests.

Maybe 30 years ago

no the political will is not there to make the right decisions to end the housing crises as the problems are due to red tape and developers who run the building industry purely for profit and because many of our politicians have a vested interest in keeping land and house prices as high as possible to maximise their investments

No

I don't think any government will be able to *completely* fix the crisis because of what the current and previous governments (ie Fianna Fail, Fine Gael + Labour in '11) have done already. Which is nothing. Just making it harder for everyone.

Can they? or Do they want to? They could fix it or take steps to fix it if they wanted to. Their intentions to do so are less sure.

What is it with your polls asking yes/no questions and then giving multiple answers?!

They can. They won't though. They will buy time until the next election and hope something distracts enough of us to get away with it.

Until ideaology, toxic politics and petty point scoring go out the window then no government can fix it. Too much focus on the wrong things...

No

Can, maybe, will they, definitely not!

Seeing as most TD's are landlords it's extremely unlikely. They've no interest in helping the working men/women of Ireland 👍

No hope ,vested interest

Lets get the people who broke it to fix it. What a good idea. Yeah right. 😔😔

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

This government couldn’t organise a piss-up in a brewery

Stupid poll

Not this government anyway.

Yes they can if they want but they will not.

😂😂😂no
