Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said the Government regards the issue of housing as its 'number one priority' and that it will be doing everything it possibly can to provide housing for people

Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said the Government regards the issue of housing as its "number one priority" and that it will be doing everything it possibly can to provide housing for people.

He said the immediate issue is to deal with the issue of Real Estate Investment Trusts and their impact on first-time buyers, and that this will be discussed at Cabinet. Ministers say they will ensure that first-time buyers are afforded some protection from so-called cuckoo funds, however the proposed changes to planning rules and tax code are unlikely to be decided at this meeting. Also at the meeting, Minister for Public Expenditure Michael McGrath is expected to bring measures to Cabinet which would ensure that recipients of protected disclosures are obliged to provide feedback to any whistleblower within three months - currently no deadline applies.

Meanwhile, it is anticipated Minister of State Josepha Madigan, who has responsibility for special education, will outline plans for nearly a four-fold increase in this year's Summer Provision programme.

Taxation is the priority issue, stop taxing workers to pay for houses for dossers who don’t get out of bed in the morning and go to work.

All strands working together is the key ..with massive state investment.

Liar

Why are our children still masked ?

It’s a good thing the housing crisis started last week only ..... imagine if it was happening with years & nothing done 🤔🤔

The ideal plan for the Taoiseach to help with the housing crisis 1. Go very, very far away. 2. Keep going 3. Stay there

😂

I've already had my life self destruct because of Covid Restrictions. I'll never vote FF in my lifetime.

Thats not his number 1 priority not even in his top 50. Hes the captain of a sinking ship and his top priority is to talk enough shite some of it might stick. Game over for this shabby lazy greedy back scratch government, and he knows it.

😂😂 Good wan! A career as a Stand Up comic beckons when shite like this gets you voted out at next GE.

He became a TD in 1989, nobody is fooled by this

Hmmmm. I suppose he'll have to start with plucking some lad who's on 220k in some dusty department, promoting him to Secretary for Gaffs For All and give him a 100k payrise and then still fail to deliver.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 been hearing the same shyt from these rats for the past 15/16 years .

Hahaha

Our national tragedy and particularly for younger generations is that grandparents and parents voted for these people at the last GE. We can see again who they care for, who they really prioritize and how much spin they put out. People thought 2011 taught FF a lesson: 🤦‍♂️

How can they do that when they, the banks and their supporters insist house prices must rise exponentially year on year?

😆😅🤣🤣🤣

How long have both parties been in charge and now all of a sudden they are going to sort out the housing crisis that’s years and years in the making 🙃

Surely your no. 1 priority is getting everyone vaccinated, getting people back to work, paying tax and getting life back to normal. More buzz words from the spin doctors.
