Thousands of homes have been swamped, pontoons and watercraft torn from their moorings, and schools and major roads blocked off as Queenslanders anxiously wait to see the extent of the damage caused by severe weather.
And about 51,000 properties across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Gold Coast, Scenic Rim, Sunshine Coast and Noosa, Lockyer Valley, Moreton Bay and Gympie lost their connection to the internet. Some Brisbane City Council bus services would run to a Saturday timetable on Tuesday, Mr Bailey said.
