It didn’t go wrong, it was just a lot of bluster designed to deflect criticism of the government. The Tories have been always used hatred of asylum seekers as a political tool so a change now would be very difficult for them.

What about the Afghans, Syrians, Libyans and the rest of the refugees of the world ... Don't they count !
