Visas issued for 570 Ukrainians to travel to Scotland under Homes for Ukraine scheme

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon told BBC Scotland the process of granting visas remained "painfully slow".

"I know there is work being done at UK government level to try to speed it up but, and I think UK government ministers would admit this themselves, that bit remains too cumbersome and it is taking far too long.Across the UK, the Home Office said 40,900 visas for Ukrainians have now been issued and 12,000 people have arrived from Ukraine.

50'000 visas issued so far. Only 570 to Scotland? I thought Scotland was welcoming etc.

Furious NickFerrariLBC hits out at the Home Office and council bureaucrats who rejected Homes for Ukraine hosts over 'plug sockets and garden plugs'. NickFerrariLBC I don’t know, if somebody housed a Ukrainian family & their child drowned in a pond & there hadn’t been a risk assessment would the family be able to take the host family or local authority to court? Katie Strick reports What about the Afghans, Syrians, Libyans and the rest of the refugees of the world ... Don't they count ! It didn’t go wrong, it was just a lot of bluster designed to deflect criticism of the government. Female refugees seeking new homes after sexual advances by British hostsMore than 1,000 refugees have now arrived in the UK under the Homes for Ukraine scheme but dozens have already seen their accommodation arrangements collapse, T Predictable. Too many dodgy people. Should all be done formally and through the proper agencies. Men should also be wary of having female 'guests' nowadays and not so quick. Sad but true. Get it sorted. Urgent to NATO. Putin is right. He wants to secure Russia's national security because NATO reached Russia's borders via Ukraine. Just like what happened in the last century when US President John F. Kennedy wanted to secure America's security from Russian missiles in Cuba right?
